I enjoy my 3 children, living by the beach and walking my 2 dogs. Mostly however, I have remained very much a general practitioner. I enjoy being able to get to know people over time and wherever possible am interested in progressing and maintaining good health.
NOT TAKING ON NEW PATIENTS

Outside of work I enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, from mountain biking and fishing through to tramping and skiing. I have recently moved to Orewa with my wife and 9 month old son. We are looking forward to seeing our son grow up here.
NOT TAKING ON NEW PATIENTS

I enjoy the variety of general practice and love working with patients to improve their health and well being, as well as getting to know them and their families. I enjoy all aspects general practice has to offer with a special interest in Older Peoples health and chronic care management.
I live in Helensville with my husband and two children and outside of my busy schedule, I enjoy horse riding and snow skiing.

I love being a general practitioner because it allows me to perform in the widest range of medical subjects, from prevention to chronic conditions, from acute medicine to palliative care. What I really enjoy most, though, is having the chance to accompany and care for people, helping them to get through their health concerns and assisting them whenever I can.
My wife and I are living this adventure in New Zealand together, willing to become a part of your community soon. We love tramping and diving, photography, cinema, reading, cooking… and endlessly staring at the sea.

I chose to become a GP because I wanted to centre my practice around people and I felt that because of how versatile this role is, it would allow me to accompany my patients in the best possible way.

I am looking forward to being a part of Orewa Medical Centre as a GP registrar. I believe that GPs are pivotal in improving health outcomes and alleviating the health disparities through prevention, early diagnosis of diseases, health education and forming partnerships with patients and their whānau. I am excited to work alongside and learn from Orewa's team, as well as develop evidence-based medicine skills for diagnosis and treatment of varieties of conditions in diverse groups of populations. I am keen to explore all aspects that GP life has to offer, serve the under-resourced and make a positive change in the health system.
Outside of work, you may find me at a tennis club on a sunny day or at a speciality coffee shop around Auckland. At home, I also enjoy jamming on my acoustic guitar. Alongside GP training, I am also taking further education in dermatoscopy to improve my ability to diagnose/ rule out skin cancers.
Registered Nurses & Health Practitioners

I enjoy working with a great team and with a wide range of ages.

I am enjoying working with families and the elderly in this modern, purpose built practice. We have a great team which makes working together, looking after our patients a great experience.

My nursing training was completed at Auckland Hospital in 1983, followed by a few post graduate years there. Since then I have mostly worked in General Practice and Urgent Care clinics - and other community based roles in Orthopaedics, ACC home Wound care and Student Health .
It is a pleasure to now be nursing in my local community.

I started at OMC in March 2022, and enjoy working alongside the fun and dedicated team and getting to know the patients and their families within the local area.

I love being a part of the experienced, supportive and fun team at Orewa Medical Centre.
A Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) is a registered health professional who works within general practice to support people with concerns about mental health, addiction, long-term conditions or general wellbeing. They offer free, brief interventions focused on improving overall health and quality of life.

My husband, two children and I live just out of Warkworth on a lifestyle block. Outside of work I enjoy gardening, walking, yoga and horse riding.

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, taking our dog out for long walks or working on my creative projects.

When not at work, I enjoy pilates, getting active outdoors, growing flowers and veges on my wee block of land, and hanging out with family and friends.
Clinical Pharmacist
Allie is our Clinical Pharmacist. As a General Practice Pharmacist she provides clinical advice and expertise on treatments and medications. Her range of services in support of doctors and nurses includes: medication review and optimisation, medicines reconciliation, answering questions about side effects, providing patient education, converting overseas medication to NZ brands, and monitoring patients with complex long-term conditions such as osteoporosis and diabetes.
A GP or nurse will refer a patient to see a clinical pharmacist when they believe that the patient needs extra expert advice on medication. A clinical pharmacist will not provide medicines. (Patients should collect their medicines from a community pharmacy as usual).
Receptionists

Then I trained as a Practice Assistant and progressed to perform some clinical duties alongside the nursing team, caring for patients, assisting with minor surgery and ultimately opening our ear suction clinic in 2019. Over the years the thing I have loved most about my job is the patients. I’ve had the privilege of caring for hundreds of wonderful people in my community, meeting their families, seeing a snippet of their lives and hopefully helping to make it a little brighter.
And now I’m Practice Manager! My passion for patients and OMC is the same as it has always been and I will endeavour to serve both to my best of my abilities.
