Kia Ora everyone! I’m Priya. I recently moved to New Zealand from the UK with my family. I’ve been working in the NHS (National Health Service, UK) for the past 11 years. Ever since coming into General Practice since 2016 I have loved the continuity and personal nature of the care I have provided for my patients and especially enjoyed the way patients would refer to me as “my doctor”.
Prior to commencing my journey to become a GP, I worked in various medical specialties including acute medicine, general medicine, neurology, stroke medicine and elderly care. During my GP vocational training (specialist training) in London, I have done ENT, Obstetrics & gynaecology, palliative care, geriatrics/elderly care.
I’ve had the opportunity to provide a wide range of GP services including management of acute problems, chronic diseases and the treatment of patients with multiple health conditions. Besides that I’ve always enjoyed providing personalized care for patients of all age groups.
Outside work, my hobbies are cooking, travelling and watching movies. I live with my husband and my 3 children aged 10, 6 and 2 years and Cookie (our kitten) in Red Beach.
