I moved to Orewa from Barcelona (Spain), where I’ve worked as a family physician for more than 20 years. I’ve also been an associate professor at Barcelona Autonomous University (UAB) and trained medical students as well as postgraduate health professionals in communicational skills all over the country. I did my PhD in Motivational Interviewing and have been involved in research on the subject both independently and in collaboration with several scientific societies, winning some national awards.
I love being a general practitioner because it allows me to perform in the widest range of medical subjects, from prevention to chronic conditions, from acute medicine to palliative care. What I really enjoy most, though, is having the chance to accompany and care for people, helping them to get through their health concerns and assisting them whenever I can.
My wife and I are living this adventure in New Zealand together, willing to become a part of your community soon. We love tramping and diving, photography, cinema, reading, cooking… and endlessly staring at the sea.
